Error correction 2
By speaking I try not to correct mistakes of my students directly. It is because the last thing I want is to discourage them from speaking and I do not want them to feel embarrassed. I usually repeat the same sentence and say it correctly but with my personal interest about the topic the student is talking about. Example: S: My hobbies is fishing and handball. T: Oh I did not know that your hobbies are fishing and handball...... This is typically by conversation. If I teach some particular part for example of grammar and they are supposed to translate a sentence or make up a new one with this phenomenon I very often use my facial expressions to indicate that something is wrong. Or I say: Almost but try it again. If nothing happens I provide some hits where could be the mistakes and if still not I let the rest of the class to solve it.
