Hello Maruška,

First of all, thank you for letting me see your lesson. I believe it has been very education for me see it as I have only limit to no experience with young learners.

You were very energetic during the lesson and I was positively surprised that you spoke English though the whole lesson with only a few exceptions. Based on the reactions of the pupils I understand that they are accustomed to lessons only in English and I could see that they understand you and are able to follow your directions.

I think you are a patient teacher and I recognized that you follow some of the recommendations we went through during our course. You encourage your pupils and you seem to have a good rapport with them. You also did not fall to the talk loop and you leave pupils the time to think about their answers. You used visual materials to keep pupils’ attention.

Your lesson was organized and children seemed to enjoy it. I have only a few suggestions, but based on your own experience you are free to ignore it.

  • Forty five minutes is very limited time, but I think you could try to incorporate more types of activities, I thought that there was a lot of drilling. On the other hand, I think it was a good idea to incorporate some of the move-around-activity.
  • I think you could also personalize the vocabulary activity, pupils were learning food related vocabulary – you could ask what fruits they like, or vegetable or what they had for breakfast.

  • I think it would also be good to introduce the activities especially the listening.

As an overall comment I would like to say that my general impression of your lesson is very positive, and I am sure that your pupils will continue enjoying their English lesson in the future.
